Summer Project – Solar Oven S’mores

Follow these instructions and build your own solar oven s’mores!

Materials You’ll Need

• Cardboard box
• Aluminum foil
• Plastic wrap
• Black construction paper
• Tape
• Glue stick
• Wooden skewer or pencil
• Utility knife or scissors
• S’mores ingredients:
  • graham crackers
  • chocolate bars
  • marshmallows

Instructions (see video for details/example)

1. Cut an oven door flap in the box
2. Decorate the outside of your box (optional)
3. Glue black construction paper inside the bottom of the box
4. Glue aluminum foil to the inside of the oven door
5. Tape plastic over the opening of the box
6. Place your s’mores in the oven
7. Place the oven in the sun
8. Use a skewer or pencil taped in place to position the oven door
