Craft Project – Triangle Puzzle
Follow these instructions (and the video) to make a triangle puzzle that will challenge you and your friends!

What You Will Need
Tools
- miter saw
- drill press
- 1/8″, 3/8″ drill bits
- 3/4″, 7/8″ Forstner drill bits
- 1.5″ h0le saw
- sander or sandpaper
- ruler
- pencil
- scissors
- lighter
Materials
- wood – 5.25″ square, 3/4″ thick
- wood – 2″ square, 1/4″ thick
- 3 dowels – 3/4″ diameter, 2″ long
- wood glue
- paint/stain (optional)
- paracord (24″ long)
- wood beads (3/4″ diameter)
Step #1
Cut out an equilateral triangle from 3/4″ wood.
Step #2
Mark three holes 3/4″ from the sides.
Step #3
Use a 3/4″ bit to drill holes halfway through the base.
Step #4
Sand and round off all corners and edges.
Step #5
Drill a 3/8″ hole 1.5″ from the bottom of each dowel.
(to get a cleaner hole, start by drilling a hole with a 1/8″ bit, then drill from both sides with a 3/8″ bit)
Step #6
Use the 1.5″ hole saw to cut the ring shape from the 2″ square.
Step #7
Wrap the edge with a layer of duct or masking tape.
Reinsert it into the square to make a snug fit.
Step #8
Use a 7/8″ drill bit to drill out the ring’s inner edge.
Step #9
Sand, paint, or stain the ring (optional).
Step #10
Stain/Seal the base and dowels (optional).
Step #11
Align the dowels as shown and glue into place.
