2020 February Cadet Quest
The theme for this month’s Cadet Quest is HOCKEY, and we’ve covered the theme in almost every part of the magazine.
Executive Director Steve Bootsma starts us off with his own hockey experience (including his favorite NHL team) and reminds us that while hockey is a great game, at the end of the day it is “just a game” and our priority needs to be living for Jesus.
You’ve probably heard of the Stanley Cup, but what do you really know about it? Learn some of the history and a few cool facts thanks to this article.
One of our fiction pieces this issue is “Mason Turns the Other Cheek” – a great story that demonstrates how keeping your cool can be an advantage in hockey and in life.
Another fictional piece – “Coach Emmie” – tells the story of a special kid who gets a chance to play a very special role on her brother’s hockey team.
And the hockey theme even comes through in this issue’s “Fun and Games” section, with a hockey-related word search puzzle and a bunch of hockey jokes.
The regular features of Cadet Quest magazine are all here, too, including a fun craft project, a closer look at a merit badge, our spotlight on a Cadet Club, the Casey’s Cadre comic, and the A and B Bible lessons.
Don’t forget – International Camporee is coming this summer, so we’ll be reminding you to “make history” by attending.
That’s a quick overview of the latest Cadet Quest magazine. We hope you’ll read it from cover to cover, learn something you maybe didn’t know, and maybe even get a chuckle or two. Until next month, enjoy your Cadet Quest magazine!
